Have you ever walked in town and notice someone you view as ugly, looking at you? Did you feel uncomfortable and wanted to get away from the person because you think they might be a bad person?
In modern day fairy tales, old women are represented as ugly, evil and wicked. We may not realise it but fairy tales our young children in our society watch, actually have an impact in their lives. We can see this in Disney movies like "Cinderella", where the step mother is the evil person. this is also in other fairy tales like "The emperor's new grove" where the evil character , Yzma, is portraited as an old ugly lady. This gives out a message to our society that an ugly person is seen as evil.

The representation of old women has an effect on the reality today. Women now have a sense of fear of being old because of what the society (or media) thinks of old people, therefore they would do anything to stay looking young. In our modern day fairy tales

In the film ' Emperor's new groove', the character Yzma is the evil villain. Of course Yzma is created as an ugly, very old women.
"Kuzco: This is Yzma, the emperor's advisor. Living proof that dinosaurs once roamed the Earth"
In our society women do not want to be old. This is because old women are not very attractive, therefore women refer to things like plastic surgery
We see how the media changes throughout the years. the media gives out an image of what women should look like. because of this, their are several people who undergo surgery because they do not right accourding to the sociaty.

in the link you would see several celebraties that changed the way they looked because of what they got told

in the disney movie 'the little mermaid' the evil witch ercila is old, fat and ugly. this to young kids shows them that when they see an old lady they are generally scared of them just because of the way they look. is this right towards those people?
